How to make your rental property more luxurious

ByClaire Briggs
As a landlord, it’s more than likely you’ll have a firm idea of the sort of tenants you’re hoping to attract.
Your rental properties will need to reflect this, so if you’ve got your sights set on the luxury market, it’s possible you’ll have to put some changes in place to make this happen.
Here are some ideas to turbo-charge the letting potential of your real estate and make it a must-see for anyone in search of a spot of glamour.

A room with a view

If your rental property has got excellent views then make the most of them! This means investing in window coverings that will maximise your outlook on the local area.
You might even want to think about having a balcony or veranda added if the structure allows – what better way to kick back and relax than with a vantage point over a beach or woodland?

Poolside living

Pools are a major draw for tenants. They’re sure to love the idea of lounging by the cool water on hot days and entertaining their friends in the space.
Adding a pool to your property can increase its popularity considerably, especially if you’re hoping to enter that lucrative luxury market.

Focus on the bathroom

One part of the property you can really make an impression is the bathroom, especially as many contemporary houses only offer showering facilities.
Instead, why not add a jacuzzi bath and give tenants something to really get excited about? Double sinks are also a great idea, as is a large illuminated mirror.

Extra parking

Everyone likes to be safe in the knowledge their car is secure at night, so think about where your tenants are going to park their prized motors.
A garage can be a great incentive, as it keeps cars out of view, while also providing some extra storage for your tenants.
Bear in mind, however, that you’ll need to find out whether planning permission is needed before taking out a project of this size.

Cleaning service

It’s possible your new luxury tenants won’t be too keen on the idea of keeping their new home in top condition, which is why offering the services of a cleaner can come in really useful.
Make it clear whether this will be included in the rent or as an additional cost to avoid any confusion.
