Resources to Help Find a Property

By Claire Briggs

There are several ways to search for potential properties. Be sure to use a variety of information sources to view the maximum amount of properties that fit your search criteria.

These include:

  • Real estate agent offices
  • Real estate industry magazines
  • Home ideas and lifestyle programs
  • Real estate websites

  • It’s also a good idea to talk to builders who are putting up houses in the areas you have shortlisted, as they may know of upcoming properties for sale or the value of existing properties in the area. It may be useful to attend a real estate industry seminar or auction, or pop into an ‘open inspection’. Some people use a buyer’s advocate or buyer’s agent, which is a professionally qualified property consultant who acts solely for the buyer by sourcing suitable properties and representing the buyer throughout the process.
